Manchester United want Fabregas Kroos signed before the World Cup

Fabregas

Manchester United are working hard to complete a stunning double swoop for two of Europes finest playmakers in Cesc Fabregas and Toni Kroos before the World Cup gets underway next month, according to Italian Journalist Tancredi Palmeri.

Fabregas and Kroos are both long-term United transfer targets and this view has been enhanced by the appointment of Louis van Gaal as manager, with the Dutchman set to be handed a huge transfer warchest to produce a dramatic improvement on last seasons results as a matter of urgency.

Kroos has been consistently linked with United over the last six months thanks to growing unrest over his decision not to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich, but would cost the Red Devils around £40m if they want to sign the German international this summer.

Barcelona meanwhile knocked back Uniteds efforts to sign Fabregas last. year, but Palmeri believes that United executive vice-president Ed Woodward has stepped up his efforts to land the former Arsenal captain in the last few weeks and is desperate to secure a stunning £32m (€40m) transfer coup before the World Cup.

Palmeri hosted a Twitter Q+A for his 79,000 followers this afternoon and Uniteds transfer policy was high on his agenda.

When posed with the question of whether United are chasing Kroos and Fabregas the beIN Sport correspondent replied: Mufc very determined onboth. They are trying to close for Fabregas and Kroos before World Cup, but its hard.

If Palmeris views have any foundation United could clock up a £72m transfer spend before next summers South American showpiece gets underwayon June 12, and thats without the continued efforts to sign Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.

Red Devils fans are still waiting to see if that deal for the England international can be concluded swiftly, with Woodward under pressure to avoid a repeat oflast summers frustration as United missed out on a string of top transfer targets, including Fabregas.{GMS}

Thomas Muller dismisses Manchester United transfer speculation

Muller

Manchester United have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller after he confirmed that hed like to remain with the Bavarian giants next season.

Louis van Gaal was announced as the permanent replacement for David Moyes this week, and although he wont officially take over until after the World Cup, work has already begun on remodelling his squad.

Manchester United have been linked with numerous players after reportedly handing Van Gaal a £150 million transfer budget and many of those players come from his former club Bayern Munich.

Although they appear close to a deal for Toni Kroos, the 2013 champions are unlikely to pull of a double swoop including Muller, after he insisted that he was happy to remain in Germany.

Its no secret that Louis van Gaal and I have a special relationship but, as everyone knows, I also have a special relationship with FC Bayern Munich,

he told Sport Bild. I am under contract at Bayern until 2017.

We have just won the domestic Double and now I am looking forward to the World Cup. I have the feeling that I will play an important role at FC Bayern and I 100 percent identify with the club and the people around the club. Thats a fact.

He added: I enjoy playing for Bayern actually, there is nothing nicer.

While they are unlikely to land Muller, reports continue to claim that Manchester United are close toa big-money deal for Southampton youngster Luke Shaw.

Edinson Cavani another Manchester United target has already insisted he has no plans to leave Paris Saint-Germain, while Bacary Sagna is set to join Manchester City.{GMS}

Southampton will sell Adam Lallana for £25m | INFORMATION NIGERIA

Southampton will sell Adam Lallana for £25m

Lallana

Liverpool have been told by Southampton that they will have to meet the £25m valuation if they want to secure the signature of Adam Lallana, reports the Daily Star.

The Reds launched a £20m bid for the England international last week and were confident it was enough to convince the Saints to sell.

However, Southampton are digging their heels in and wont sell Lallana for a penny less than £25m.

Lallana, who is the captain at St Marys, is a jewel of Southamptons famed academy and the club are ready to drag the transfer saga deep into thesummer transfer window.

That would go against the advice of England manager Roy Hodgson, who urged the 25-year-old to make sure his future was sorted before the WorldCup started in early June.

If Liverpool cant meet the valuation, it gives Manchester United hope that they could steal a march on their Premier League rivals.

The Red Devils have also been linked with a move for Lallana in the past as they look for weird and wonderful ways to spend their enormous transferbudget.

Options on the wing have been light forManchester United in recent times with the likes of Ashley Young and Nani failing to find top form.

But Manchester United are still concentrating on Landing a marquee target and the more time Liverpool take agreeing a fee with Lallana, the morechance Louis van Gaal has to decide whether to rival them for his signature.

Liverpool have already highlighted an alternative to Lallana in the form of Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri if they cant agree a fee with Southampton.

Rodgers would no doubt be keen to seal his top target Lallana, however, who would count as a homegrown player in their Champions League squad next season.{GMS}

Arsenal are prepared to break club transfer record again to become champions Lord Harris

Posted by: @femi4arsenal on May 22, 2014

Arsenal director Lord Harris of Peckham today promised that Arsene Wenger will be given the money he needs to turn the club into champions.

The board have given Wenger the green light to spend this summer and Lord Harris has not ruled out the prospect of breaking the club’s record transferfee.

Wenger plans to sign a striker, a midfielder and a right‑back; with the Gunners hoping to use their FA Cup victory as a catalyst for more silverware.

“We want to win the Premier League and the Champions League,” Lord Harris told Standard Sport.

“If we buy two or three players then I think we can.

We want to win. We don’t want to be second, we don’t want to be third and we don’t want to be fourth. We will support Arsene with the players hewants to buy. He has always been encouraged to spend.”

A reported £100million transfer kitty has been made available but Lord Harris dismissed claims the 64- year-old has been given a spending target.

Arsenal are in a strong position financially and their stadium debt is now down to a manageable level.

They have also agreed a new kit deal with Puma, which will strengthen Wenger’s position in the transfer market.

The £42.5million arrival of Mesut Ozil last summer marked a club record transfer fee but, if the right player becomes available, Wenger could reach evengreater heights with his spending.

Asked if the board would back Wenger to break the club’s transfer record for a second time in 12 months,

Lord Harris said: “We would. It would be easy.” He added: “There is a lot of paper talk. I wouldn’t say It [the total transfer budget] is £100m, I wouldn’t say It’s £50m and I wouldn’t say it’s £150m.

“If Arsene has asked for any player then we have always backed him to go and buy. With the exception of Messi, Ronaldo or Bale; we could buy mostplayers.”{StandardUK}
